TEXAS INSTRUMENTS 7805 fixed linear voltage regulator. 5V, 100mA output, SOIC-8. Ideal for on-card regulation and power management.
The TEXAS INSTRUMENTS 7805 Fixed Linear Voltage Regulator from the µA78L00 series is designed for a wide range of power management applications. It is particularly suited for on-card regulation, effectively eliminating the noise and distribution problems often associated with single-point regulation.
This versatile regulator can deliver up to 100mA of output current and can be paired with power-pass elements to create a high-current voltage regulator. When used as a replacement for a Zener diode-resistor combination, it provides an effective improvement in output impedance along with lower bias current.
Engineered for robust performance, the device features internal current limiting and thermal shutdown, making it essentially immune to overload conditions. It requires no external components, simplifying circuit design and board layout. Furthermore, it is classified as a green product, containing no antimony (Sb) or bromine (Br).
