Texas Instruments BCD-to-Decimal or Binary-to-Octal Decoder/Driver in DIP-16 package. Ideal for code conversion & signal processing.
The Texas Instruments BCD-to-Decimal or Binary-to-Octal Decoder/Driver is a versatile MOS device featuring buffering on all four inputs, decoding-logic gates, and ten output buffers. When a BCD code is applied to the four inputs (A to D), it results in a high level at the selected one of the ten decimal decoded outputs. Similarly, when a 3-bit binary code is applied to inputs A through C, it is decoded in octal code at outputs 0 to 7, provided input D is set to 0.
This decoder/driver provides high drive capability at all outputs, enhancing both DC and dynamic performance in high fan-out applications. It offers medium-speed operation alongside standardised, symmetrical output characteristics. The device is 100% tested for quiescent current at 20V and features a maximum input current of 1µA at 18V, alongside a ±10mA DC input current.
Ideal for a variety of electronic design applications, this component is well-suited for code conversion, indicator-tube decoding, address decoding, and memory selection control. It is also highly effective in signal processing and industrial environments.
