The VISTA CCTV 4-Port Ethernet Desktop PoE Switch is a versatile and robust networking device designed to streamline and enhance video surveillance installations. This compact, unmanaged switch provides both standard Ethernet connectivity and extended Power over Ethernet (PoE) reach, making it an ideal solution for integrating cameras into existing networks or expanding system capabilities.

The switch operates in two distinct modes to suit different project requirements. In the standard 100m Mode, it functions as a regular 10/100Mbps autosensing Ethernet switch with a maximum transmission distance of 90 metres. With a simple flick of the physical mode switch, it can be changed to Extend Mode (250m Mode). In this setting, PoE port speeds are reduced to 10Mbps to achieve a significantly extended transmission and PoE reach of up to 250 metres, perfect for long cable runs to remote cameras.

A key feature is its dual uplink ports, offering flexibility for network integration. One port can be dedicated to connecting to a local Video Management System (VMS) server or Network Video Recorder (NVR), such as VISTA's VIP series of NDAA-compliant recorders, effectively increasing PoE port density. The second uplink port can then be used to connect to a viewing client PC or the main core network, ensuring efficient data flow.

Specifically designed for security applications, its CCTV Mode (enabled via the same physical switch) optimises the device for surveillance networks, prioritising stable, long-distance PoE delivery to cameras. The robust metal casing ensures durability for desktop use in various environments, from retail stores to industrial sites.
