SENSATA/CRYDOM CX Series Solid State Relay - 50A

The SENSATA/CRYDOM CX Series Solid State Relay (SSR) is a high-performance electronic switching device engineered for demanding, high-density printed circuit board (PCB) applications. It is ideally suited for controlling loads requiring a maximum continuous current of 5A, offering a reliable and robust alternative to traditional electromechanical relays. This SSR utilises a back-to-back Silicon Controlled Rectifier (SCR) output stage, which provides exceptional reliability and longevity, making it perfect for commercial and heavy industrial environments where consistent operation is critical.

A standout feature is its versatility in output triggering. The relay is available with either a Zero Voltage Turn-On option for resistive loads, which minimises electromagnetic interference, or an Instantaneous Turn-On output for inductive loads or phase-controlled applications. This flexibility allows it to be precisely matched to a wide variety of load types and control scenarios. The CX Series boasts an impressive high surge current rating, enabling it to withstand the initial inrush currents commonly encountered when switching motors, transformers, or lamps.

Designed for direct PCB mounting with through-hole terminals, it facilitates easy integration into automated manufacturing processes. The entire range is comprehensively certified, holding approvals from UL, CSA, and VDE, and is CE compliant to the stringent EN60950-1 standard. With a robust operational rating of 5A at 660V AC, it is built to handle heavy industrial loads with confidence. Its compact form factor ensures it occupies minimal board space without compromising on power handling or safety.

Key Applications

This solid-state relay is a cornerstone component in modern industrial automation, power management systems, and sophisticated process control equipment. Its fast, silent switching and lack of moving parts make it exceptionally reliable for frequent-cyle,
