The BROADCOM ASSR series solid-state relay (SSR) offers a highly reliable, opto-isolated switching solution for demanding electronic applications. It consists of an AlGaAs infrared light-emitting diode (LED) input stage optically coupled to a high-voltage output detector circuit. This detector features a high-speed photovoltaic diode array and driver circuitry to switch on and off two discrete high-voltage MOSFETs.

A key advantage of this component is its compact, solid-state bi-directional signal switching capability. It provides low on-resistance and a high input-to-output insulation voltage, ensuring efficient operation and excellent electrical isolation for safety and signal integrity. The relay is designed with low input current, making it compatible with CMOS logic, and it offers very high output off-state impedance to minimise leakage currents.

This SSR is engineered for high-speed switching and features high transient immunity, making it robust against electrical noise and surges in harsh environments.
