Dormer E500 HSS Coarse Tap 10mm, Straight Flute, 2nd Cut
Dormer E500 HSS Coarse Tap (10mm, 2nd cut) for hand & machine use. Straight flute design, 6H fit – ideal for threading metals.
The Dormer E500 HSS Coarse Tap features straight flutes, making it the only type of tap suitable for both manual and machine use. Its versatility allows it to handle through holes or blind holes in most materials with ease.
For blind hole applications, straight flute taps should be used in sets consisting of three taps, which are commonly known by various names:
- Taper or First Tap
- Second or Intermediate Tap (This Product)
- Bottoming, Third or Plug Tap
Crafted from High-Speed Steel (HSS), this tap offers excellent durability and performance. The bright surface treatment ensures smooth operation, while the precise Class 2 tolerance (6H fit) guarantees accurate threading. Its 10mm x 1.5mm metric coarse thread pitch makes it ideal for general-purpose threading tasks.
With a Chamfer No. 2 (intermediate cut) and straight flute geometry, the Dormer E500 tap delivers reliable performance for workshops and professional use. The ISO529 compliance further assures adherence to international standards.
Perfect for engineers, metalworkers, and DIY enthusiasts who require high-quality threading tools for a wide range of applications.
