Everbuild Sika Fire Mate Intumescent Sealant provides 5-hour fire resistance with acoustic properties. Ideal for fire walls, partitions, and cables.
The Everbuild Sika Fire Mate Intumescent Sealant is a high-performance, one-part emulsion acrylic-based sealant, designed to provide a firm yet flexible seal to joints in various fire-rated structures. It boasts a 5-hour fire resistance rating, ensuring robust protection against the spread of fire and smoke. This product has been tested following the principles of BS 476 part 20 (1987) as detailed in Warrington Fire Research Report No. 144508/B (Feb 2005).
When exposed to heat, the sealant swells to more than 3 times its original size, forming a char that effectively resists fire for up to 5 hours. No priming is required for most construction substrates, making it a convenient and efficient solution for fire protection.
The sealant is also suitable for acoustic applications, offering excellent sound-deadening properties. It is easy to apply and tool off, ensuring a perfect finish. It cures rapidly, becoming tack-free in just 15 minutes, and can be overpainted for a seamless appearance. Available in white or brown.
