A key feature is its adjustable detection range, which can be finely tuned from 90mm to 300mm using the onboard potentiometer. The module provides a straightforward TTL digital output, delivering a logical HIGH signal when a dark (black) surface is detected and a LOW signal when a light (white) surface is detected, simplifying integration with microcontrollers.
