The Sikkens Cetol HLS Plus Translucent Woodstain is a premium quality, low-build solvent-borne semi-gloss woodstain that serves both as a base coat and a finishing layer. Its highly translucent formula enhances the natural beauty of wood grain while providing robust protection against mould, algae, UV radiation, peeling, and cracking.
This microporous, water-repellent stain is ideal for exterior softwood and hardwood substrates, including cladding, fascias, soffits, rough-sawn timber, and fencing. When used as a base stain, it absorbs readily into timber, creating a stable foundation for topcoats. It can be paired with Cetol Filter 7 Plus or Cetol THB Plus for windows and doors, but it is not recommended as a standalone finish for hardwood timbers.
