The Arduino MKR Environmental Shield Rev2 enables an Arduino MKR board to acquire environmental data collected by an array of advanced sensors. This shield allows you to build projects and store the collected data locally, making it an ideal solution for environmental monitoring applications.
The shield integrates the latest generation of sensors to measure atmospheric pressure, temperature, humidity, and light intensity. It features the ST LPS22HB sensor for atmospheric pressure, the ST HTS221 sensor for temperature and humidity, and the VISHAY TEMT6000 sensor for ambient light intensity measured in LUX. It also provides UVA, UVB, and UVBI measurement capabilities.
For convenient data logging, the shield includes a dedicated slot for a microSD card (not provided). A ready-to-use library featuring examples and methods is available to read values from the different sensors, ensuring an easy and smooth integration path for developers.
Operating on a 3.3V input and operating voltage, the shield communicates via I2C and analogue interfaces. It offers a pressure range of 260 to 1260hPa, a humidity sensitivity range of 0.004% rH/LSB, and a light intensity range of 0 to 650 lux. Humidity accuracy is rated at ± 3.5% rH (20 to +80% rH). The shield features compact dimensions of 43 mm in height, 33 mm in width, and 15 mm in depth, with a lightweight design of just 24.8 grams.
