The ATMEL 8-Bit 8K Flash MCU is a low-power CMOS microcontroller based on the AVR RISC architecture. By executing powerful instructions in a single clock cycle, this device achieves throughputs approaching 1MIPS per MHz, allowing system designers to optimise power consumption versus processing speed.
Featuring high-endurance non-volatile memory segments, it includes 8Kbytes of in-system self-programmable flash program memory, 512Bytes of EEPROM, and 1Kbyte of internal SRAM. It offers impressive write/erase cycles and long-term data retention, alongside true read-while-write operation and programming locks for software security.
This microcontroller is equipped with advanced peripherals, including two 8-bit timer/counters, one 16-bit timer/counter with capture mode, and three PWM channels. It supports versatile communication via a byte-oriented two-wire serial interface, programmable serial USART, and Master/Slave SPI serial interface. Additional features include a programmable watchdog timer and an on-chip analogue comparator.
With an operating frequency of up to 16MHz and a supply voltage range of 4.5V to 5.5V, this MCU is suitable for demanding environments, operating reliably between -40°C and 85°C.
