Explore physical computing with the BBC micro:bit V2 Go Starter Kit. Features Bluetooth, sensors, LED matrix, and essential accessories.
The BBC micro:bit V2 Go Starter Kit provides an easily programmable single board computer designed to make computing physical. Powered by the Nordic nRF52833 processor with 512KB flash and 128KB RAM, it runs a complete application directly from on-chip flash memory. The on-board 2.4GHz antenna supports Bluetooth communications via the Nordic S113 SoftDevice, while the transceiver also supports the microbit-radio protocol for versatile wireless connectivity.
Sensing and Interaction
This versatile board allows you to sense, measure, and log light, temperature, sound, movement, and magnetism. It features a MEMS microphone with an LED indicator and a dedicated I2C bus for peripherals. An onboard speaker, capacitive touch sensor, motion sensor, and temperature sensors further expand its interactive capabilities, making it ideal for hands-on learning and projects.
Display and Connectivity
The 5x5 LED display matrix consists of 25 red LEDs with 255-step intensity control, and the matrix can also be used to sense ambient light using a software algorithm. A new notched edge connector makes it easier to connect components like crocodile clips and conductive thread.
Compatibility and Contents
The micro:bit works with Microsoft, macOS, Apple iPads and iPhones, and Android devices. Please note that coloured accents are randomly assorted, and one board is supplied.
