The Broadcom 4 Channel Digital Output Optocoupler is a surface-mount, truly isolated, multi-channel and bi-directional logic gate optocoupler housed in a 16-pin SOIC package. Delivering a high data rate of 15 Mbaud, this device achieves the integration of multiple optocouplers in monolithic form through patented process technology, resulting in high channel density.

This high channel density makes the optocoupler ideally suited to isolating data conversion devices, parallel buses, and peripheral interfaces. It is widely used in Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI), Inter-Integrated Circuit (I2C) interfaces, full duplex communication, isolated line receivers, microprocessor system interfaces, and digital isolation for A/D and D/A conversion. It is also highly effective for instrument input/output isolation and ground loop elimination.
