The BROADCOM HLMP-4000 is a high-quality, bicolour LED housed in the standard T-1 3/4 (5mm) round package, designed for through-hole mounting. It features two distinct LED chips—one emitting high-efficiency red light and the other green—mounted on a central common cathode lead. This configuration ensures maximum on-axis viewing, making it highly visible across a wide, diffused angle of 65 degrees. The light sources are engineered for applications requiring dual-state illumination, where the two colours can be independently controlled or pulsed to generate a range of visual signals.
This versatile component offers reliable performance with a low forward current of 10mA for both colours. The red LED provides a minimum luminous intensity of 2.1mcd with a dominant wavelength of 626nm, while the green LED offers a brighter 4.2mcd at 570nm. The forward voltage is similarly efficient, at 1.9V for red and 2.2V for green (measured at 20mA). Its robust design supports an operating temperature range from -20°C to 100°C, ensuring stability in various environments. The package includes three leads and is available with either a straight or spread leads configuration to suit different PCB layouts.
