The CAL CONTROLS 9400 is a 1/16 DIN dual-display temperature controller designed for ease of use and reliability within the most demanding process and manufacturing applications. Tailored specifically for industrial or scientific environments, it features an impact-resistant smoked fascia with rubberized buttons that provide positive feedback during operation.
PID tuning is simple and efficient, whilst the unique DAC function minimises overshoot to ensure precise temperature management. The controller is equipped with a 2 x 4 digit LED display alongside 2 output LEDs, featuring easy-to-use autotuning for quick setup. Configuration is straightforward thanks to a simple menu-driven system, which includes a single ramp/soak (dwell) programme.
Offering versatile functionality, this single loop controller supports heat, cool, and alarm output functions. Output types include Relay (rly1 2A, rly2 1A resistive) and SSD (5Vdc +0/-15% 15mA non-isolated). It supports PID heat only, PID heat cool, and ON/OFF control types, powered by a 100 to 240VAC supply.
Communication is handled via RS232 and RS485 Modbus RTU protocols, ensuring seamless integration into existing systems. The unit boasts IP66 panel sealing for robust protection in harsh environments and is compatible with CALgrafix configuration datalogging software. It is both UL and CSA certified and supports a wide range of thermocouple inputs including B, E, J, K, L, N, R, S, T, Pt100, and RTD.
