This is a high-voltage, high-current Darlington array containing seven open-collector Darlington pairs with common emitters. It is designed for driving a wide range of loads including relays, stepper and DC brushed motors, lamps, displays (LED and gas discharge), line drivers, and logic buffers. The integrated suppression diode protects against inductive load spikes, making it reliable for switching applications.
The inputs are TTL, CMOS, PMOS, and DTL compatible, ensuring easy integration with various logic families. The output can be paralleled to achieve higher current capability, and the input pins are placed opposite the output pins to simplify PCB layout. This component is housed in a DIP16 through-hole package, making it suitable for breadboarding and prototyping.
