FTDI RPi-HUB-MODULE USB Hub & Multi-Interface Converter

The FTDI RPi-HUB-MODULE is a versatile USB HUB and USB-to-multi-interface converter module specifically designed for the Raspberry Pi. It provides a powerful solution to expand connectivity options, enabling a single computer to interface with a wider array of peripherals and development hardware.

At its core is the FT2232H, a high-speed dual-port USB bridge chip that handles all signalling and protocols. This powerful component allows the module to function as a flexible interface converter, defaulting to two independent UART channels but easily supporting SPI, I2C, JTAG, and GPIO configurations via its Multi-Protocol Synchronous Serial Engine (MPSSE). All I/O pins are 5V tolerant, offering protection for connected devices.

The module also integrates a GL850G USB 2.0 Hi-Speed hub controller, adding up to three downstream USB ports. These are accessible via a dual-port USB type A connector and a 0.1” pitch header, making it simple to connect additional USB devices to your Raspberry Pi. An external power input connector is available to supply sufficient power to these downstream ports, ensuring stable operation of connected peripherals.
