The FTDI UMFT200XD-WE is a breakout board that converts USB to I²C with four control bus lines. This module does not include a USB connector; instead, it plugs directly into a USB host connector, and the PCB pads make electrical contact with the connector's contacts. The I²C interface operates at 3.3V voltage levels, while all I/Os are 5V tolerant.
The module provides 3.3V power output limited to 50mA and 5V with a safety fuse. I²C signals are available via 8, 6-inch flying leads connected to the PCB pads. Royalty-free VCP and D2XX drivers eliminate the requirement for USB driver development in most cases. The device is supplied preprogrammed with a unique USB serial number and supports bus-powered, self-powered, and high-power bus-powered USB configurations.
