At its core, the cable features the FT232RQ USB to serial UART interface IC, which efficiently manages all USB signalling and protocols. The internal electronics include an RS485 transceiver, as well as Tx and Rx LEDs for visual traffic monitoring. One end of the cable connects via a standard USB port, while the other end comes with bare, tinned wire connections for easy integration.
This USB 2.0 full-speed compatible cable supports FTDIChip-ID, incorporating a unique USB serial number programmed into the FT232R for secure and traceable connections. Pre-installed USB drivers allow the converter to emulate a virtual COM port (VCP) for simplified connectivity.
