INFINEON BTS4140N Smart High Side Power Switch, SOT-223-4

The INFINEON BTS4140N is a smart high-side power switch featuring SIPMOS® technology, designed for robust and reliable control of electrical loads. This N-channel vertical power switch integrates a MOSFET, charge pump, and current-controlled input on a single monolithic chip, delivering a compact and efficient solution for demanding applications.

Built with comprehensive embedded protective functions, this switch ensures safe operation under a variety of fault conditions. It includes short-circuit protection, current limitation, and shutdown during under-voltage to prevent damage. Overvoltage protection and thermal shutdown with restart further enhance reliability. The device also provides ESD protection, loss of GND and VBB protection, and reverse battery protection, making it highly resilient in automotive and industrial environments. Its very low standby current supports energy efficiency, while improved electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) helps minimise interference.

This power switch is qualified to AEC-Q100 standards, making it suitable for automotive applications. It operates over a wide temperature range from -40°C to 150°C and supports a 62V input voltage with a 700mA current limit. The SOT-223-4 package and active low enable input offer flexible integration into various circuit designs.
