The INFINEON BTS452R PROFET™ is a high-side power switch built using advanced SIPMOS technology and housed in a TO-252-5 package. It integrates a vertical power FET to provide robust control between the power supply and the load, offering a comprehensive suite of embedded protection and diagnostic features for reliable circuit management.
This smart switch is engineered to safeguard your applications with multiple protective functions. It includes overload protection, current limitation, and short-circuit protection to prevent damage under fault conditions. The device also features thermal shutdown with an automatic restart function, overvoltage protection, and a shutdown mechanism for under-voltage scenarios. For inductive loads, it provides fast demagnetization, and reverse battery protection is achievable with an external resistor.
Diagnostic capabilities are a key strength, featuring an open-drain diagnostic output for signalling over-temperature and short-circuit events. It also allows for open-load detection in the OFF-state when used with an external resistor. With a CMOS-compatible input and very low standby current, it is highly efficient and suitable for 12V or 24V automotive and industrial systems.
Designed for demanding environments, it operates over a wide temperature range from -40°C to 150°C and is qualified to the AEC-Q100 automotive standard. Its compact form factor makes it an ideal solution for space-constrained applications requiring reliable power switching and protection.
