INFINEON IFX007T Integrated High-Current Half-Bridge Motor Driver

The INFINEON IFX007T is a high-performance integrated motor driver from the industrial NovalithIC™ family. This compact solution combines a p-channel high-side MOSFET and an n-channel low-side MOSFET with a full-featured driver IC in a single 7-pin TO263 package, offering a protected, cost-optimised motor drive with minimal board space consumption.

A key advantage is the use of a p-channel high-side switch, which eliminates the need for an external charge pump. This design simplifies the circuit, reduces component count, and significantly minimises electromagnetic interference (EMI). Interfacing with a microcontroller is straightforward thanks to logic-level inputs.

The integrated driver provides comprehensive protection and control features, including status flag diagnosis with current sense capability, undervoltage shutdown, and overtemperature shutdown with latch behaviour for safety. It also offers switched-mode current limitation to reduce power dissipation during overcurrent events, adjustable slew rates for optimised EMI performance, and dead time generation.

This driver is capable of high PWM frequency operation combined with active freewheeling and features enhanced switching speed to reduce switching losses. It is qualified to the JESD47I standard, ensuring high reliability for demanding industrial applications such as automotive systems, industrial automation, robotics, and appliance motor control.
