Key Features & Installation

The breakout board features an on-board edge connector where the micro:bit slots in securely. Two 11-way pin headers are used to break out the micro:bit's pins, making connections easily accessible. The entire assembly is designed to plug straight across the central slot of a standard breadboard, occupying the same placement as an integrated circuit (IC). Installation requires no tools or soldering; simply insert the micro:bit and place the board on the breadboard.

Using the Breakout Board

To use, insert the front of the BBC micro:bit (the side with the LEDs) facing the same side as the labelled 3V pin on the breakout board. Once seated, you can use standard jumper wires to connect from the header pins to any point on the breadboard, enabling rapid circuit creation and experimentation. This setup makes prototyping with the micro:bit incredibly straightforward, perfect for educational settings, workshops, and hobbyist projects.
