The LABFACILITY Mineral Insulated Thermocouple Sensor is a precision-engineered, highly flexible temperature sensing device designed for demanding industrial applications. Its robust construction features a 310 stainless steel sheath, providing excellent resistance to corrosion and oxidation, making it suitable for a broad spectrum of processes, including sulphur-bearing atmospheres.

The sensor utilises a Type K (nickel chromium/nickel aluminium) thermocouple element that conforms to ANSI and IEC standards, ensuring reliable and accurate temperature measurement. A key feature is the insulated hot junction, where the sensing junction is electrically isolated from the metal sheath. This design offers crucial protection against spurious electrical signals and ground loops, enhancing measurement integrity in electrically noisy environments.

Its mineral insulated (MI) design allows the probe to be highly flexible. The sheath can be carefully bent or formed on-site to suit specific installation requirements and complex process geometries, providing exceptional versatility. The sensor terminates in a colour-coded miniature flat pin plug (green, in accordance with IEC standards) for quick and secure connection to compatible instrumentation.

This thermocouple is built to perform reliably in extreme conditions, with an operational temperature range from -40°C up to +1100°C.
