DMOS microstepping motor driver with built-in translator for bipolar stepper motors. 3V-5.5V supply, 35V/2A output, TSSOP-24 package.
This DMOS microstepping motor driver with built-in translator offers an efficient and reliable solution for operating bipolar stepper motors. Designed to support full, half, quarter, and sixteenth step modes, it provides precise motor control for a wide range of applications.
A standout feature is the simple interface; a single pulse on the STEP input drives the motor one microstep. There is no need for complex phase sequence tables, high-frequency control lines, or intricate programming, making it an ideal choice for systems where a complex microprocessor is unavailable or overburdened.
The driver includes a fixed off-time current regulator capable of operating in slow or mixed decay modes. During stepping, the chopping control automatically selects the appropriate current decay mode to ensure smooth and accurate motor operation.
Robust Protection and Efficiency
Engineered for durability and low power dissipation, this driver features synchronous rectification and low RDS(ON) outputs. It boasts a comprehensive suite of protective features, including overcurrent protection, crossover current protection, thermal shutdown circuitry, and short-to-ground protection. An internal undervoltage lockout (UVLO) ensures safe start-up, while a low-current sleep mode draws less than 10μA, preserving power when the system is idle.
With a logic supply compatible with both 3.3V and 5V systems, and an output drive capacity of up to 35V and ±2A, this motor driver delivers versatile and powerful performance in a compact TSSOP-24 package.
