The MICROCHIP 25LC256-I/P is a 256 Kbit, high-temperature SPI Serial EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory), designed for reliable, non-volatile data storage. Memory is accessed through a simple and efficient Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) compatible serial bus, requiring only a clock input (SCK), separate data in (SI) and data out (SO) lines, and a Chip Select (CS) input for device control. Communication can be conveniently paused using the hold pin (HOLD), allowing the host microcontroller to service higher-priority interrupts without losing the communication stream.
Crafted with low-power CMOS technology, this EEPROM is engineered for endurance and data integrity. It features both byte and page-level write operations, with self-timed erase and write cycles completing in a maximum of 6ms. Robust data protection is provided through configurable block write protection (allowing you to protect none, 1/4, 1/2, or the entire memory array) and built-in write protection circuitry that safeguards data during power transitions.
