MICROCHIP dual 12-bit DAC with internal VREF, SPI interface, and 2.7V-5.5V supply. Ideal for automotive & portable electronics.
The MICROCHIP Dual 12-bit Digital to Analogue Converter is a high-precision voltage output DAC featuring an internal voltage reference, provided in an 8-pin DIP package. Designed for reliable performance, this device includes an internal voltage reference (VREF = 2.048V), allowing users to configure the full-scale range to either 2.048V or 4.096V via a selectable gain option.
Each DAC channel can be independently operated in active or shutdown mode through configuration register bits. In shutdown mode, internal circuits are disabled to conserve power, and the output amplifier presents a known high-resistance output load of typically 500 kΩ.
This converter utilizes a resistive string architecture, delivering low DNL error, a low ratiometric temperature coefficient, and a fast settling time of 4.5μs. It supports a rail-to-rail output with an SPI interface accommodating clock speeds up to 20MHz, and features simultaneous latching of dual DACs for synchronized outputs.
