The MICROCHIP Fixed LDO Voltage Regulator delivers a reliable 5V output with a 150mA output current, making it an excellent choice for power management applications. Housed in a compact 5-pin SOT-23 package, this low dropout (LDO) regulator features an ultra-low noise output and a very low ground current, ensuring efficient performance for sensitive electronics.
Designed specifically for handheld and battery-powered devices, it offers better than 1% initial accuracy, extremely tight load and line regulation, and a very low temperature coefficient. The device includes a CMOS or TTL-compatible enable/shutdown control input; during shutdown, power consumption drops nearly to zero, preserving battery life. The regulator's ground current increases slightly during dropout, which further extends battery life.
Additional protective features include a reference bypass pin for improved low noise performance, reversed battery protection, current limiting, and overtemperature shutdown. It operates within a junction temperature range of -40°C to 125°C and accepts an input voltage range from 2.5V to 16V with a dropout voltage of 165mV at 150mA.
