High-speed 1Mbps CAN transceiver by Microchip in SOIC-8 package. Features ISO-11898 compliance, thermal shutdown and short circuit protection.
The Microchip High Speed CAN Transceiver serves as a reliable interface between a CAN protocol controller and the physical bus. Providing differential transmit and receive capability, this device is fully compatible with the ISO-11898 standard, including 24V requirements, and operates at speeds of up to 1Mb/s.
Each node in a CAN system requires a device to convert digital signals from the controller into signals suitable for transmission over the bus cabling. This transceiver also acts as a buffer, protecting the CAN controller from high voltage spikes generated on the bus by external sources such as EMI, ESD, and electrical transients.
