Microchip MCP1416 low-side MOSFET driver in SOT-23-5. 1.5A peak output, 4.5-18V supply, AEC-Q100 for automotive.
The Microchip MCP1416T-E/OT is a compact, low-side MOSFET driver delivering a 1.5A peak output current. As a non-inverting driver, it outputs a high signal when the input is high, making it versatile for various applications beyond driving MOSFET gates, such as direct control of small DC motors, buffering high-speed data lines, and level translation between low and high voltage domains.
This driver is engineered for robustness, featuring high resistance to ground bounce, latch-up immunity, and the ability to withstand negative input swings up to 5V. It provides matched rise and fall times and matched propagation delays, ensuring reliable performance in demanding conditions. With a high capacitive load drive capability, it can drive 470pF loads in 10ns and 1000pF loads in 20ns typically.
The device exhibits low output impedance, low supply current (850µA with logic '1' input, 100µA with logic '0' input), and can withstand up to 0.5A of output reverse current. It is protected against 4kV ESD and features low shoot-through/cross-conduction current in the output stage. Additionally, it is immune to double pulsing the output with slow ramping input signals.
Operating from a 4.5V to 18V supply, this SOT-23-5 packaged driver supports surface mount installation, with an operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C. It is AEC-Q100 qualified, making it suitable for automotive applications.
