A key feature is the independent shutdown capability for each DAC channel, either via the active-low SHDN pin or through configuration register bits. In shutdown mode, internal circuits are powered down to minimise current consumption, while the output amplifier presents a known high-impedance load. The device incorporates a double-buffered input register and a LDAC pin, enabling synchronous updates of both DAC outputs for precise timing control.
Designed for reliability, the MCP4922-E/SL includes a Power-on Reset (POR) circuit to ensure predictable startup behaviour. It delivers rail-to-rail voltage outputs and supports an external voltage reference for enhanced application flexibility. With a maximum SPI clock frequency of 20MHz and a typical settling time of just 4.5µs, it is capable of fast, accurate signal generation.
