The MIDAS DISPLAYS 16x2 Character LCD Module is a highly versatile alphanumeric display, providing clear and reliable information for a wide array of electronic applications. Featuring a 16-character by 2-line format, this module utilises a positive mode grey Super-Twisted Nematic (STN) material. Its transflective technology ensures excellent readability in both indoor and low-light conditions, as well as in bright, outdoor environments, making it a flexible choice for varied installations.

The display's appearance adapts based on the backlight: with the backlight off, characters appear in black against a grey background. When the bright yellow/green LED backlight is activated, it provides a high-contrast, easy-to-read yellow/green background. This module is built using a Chip on Board (COB) construction, which simplifies the mounting process and contributes to a compact and robust design.

• Controller & Compatibility: Equipped with an on-board SPLC780 controller (or equivalent), which is a derivative of the widely-used HD44780 standard, ensuring broad compatibility and ease of programming.

• Character & Viewing: Includes both English and Japanese font sets. Characters are a legible 9.66mm in size, and the module offers a preferred 6 o'clock viewing angle for optimal readability.
• Durability & Connection: Designed to perform reliably across a wide operating temperature range from -20°C to +70°C. Connection is made via a 16-way through-hole Single In-Line (SIL) connector on the bottom left, with a standard 2.54mm pitch.
