The NXP 74HC4094D is an 8-stage shift and store bus register supplied in a 16-pin SOIC package. This versatile integrated circuit functions as an 8-bit serial-in, serial or parallel-out shift register with a storage register and 3-state outputs, making it an essential component for digital logic applications.
Both the shift and storage registers have separate clocks, providing greater control and flexibility. The device features a serial input (D) and two serial outputs (QS1 and QS2) to enable straightforward cascading of multiple devices. Data is shifted on the low-to-high transitions of the CP input. Data is available at QS1 on low-to-high transitions of CP, allowing cascading when clock edges are fast, while the same data is available at QS2 on the next high-to-low transition, supporting cascading when clock edges are slow.
Data from the shift register is transferred to the storage register when the STR input is high. The data in the storage register appears at the outputs whenever the output enable input (OE) is high; a low on OE causes the outputs to assume a high-impedance OFF state.
This device complies with JEDEC standard JESD 7A and features CMOS level inputs, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of digital systems. It includes ESD protection for enhanced reliability. The ambient temperature range spans from -40°C to 125°C, and the supply voltage range is from 2V to 6V.
