The Power Integrations TOPSwitch-GX EcoSmart integrated off line switcher provides a cost-effective and highly efficient solution for power supply design. By integrating a high-voltage power MOSFET, PWM control, fault protection, and other control circuitry onto a single CMOS chip, it significantly reduces system cost while improving design flexibility and overall performance.

This advanced switcher incorporates several new features, including a soft start, frequency jittering for lower EMI, and a wider duty cycle for increased power with a smaller input capacitor. It regulates smoothly down to zero load without the need for dummy loading, and the 132KHz switching frequency helps reduce the overall size of the transformer and power supply.

With a maximum power rating of 180W, the device ensures reliable operation across an input voltage range of 85VAC to 265VAC. It features a hysteretic thermal shutdown for automatic fault recovery, preventing PC board overheating. The component has compact dimensions of 40 mm in height, 30 mm in width, and 25 mm in depth, with a lightweight design of just 2 grams.
