The Shelly EM Gen3 is a compact, smart energy meter designed to provide detailed monitoring of electricity consumption for up to two separate circuits simultaneously. It employs contactless current transformers for safe and accurate energy metering, allowing you to track the power usage of individual appliances or entire electrical systems. Data can be reported directly to your smartphone, tablet, PC, or integrated into your home automation setup for comprehensive energy management.

This versatile device can operate stand-alone within a local WiFi network or be connected to cloud-based home automation services for remote access and control. It features internal data storage, retaining logs on the device for up to ten days at one-minute intervals, while cloud connectivity extends data history to a full 365 days.

Key features include direct WiFi connectivity without the need for a separate hub, and the ability to function as its own access point. Adding the device is simplified via Bluetooth through the Shelly Cloud app. Furthermore, it can act as a Bluetooth proxy for other BLE devices, enhancing your smart home ecosystem.

For control, the Shelly EM Gen3 includes a single dry contact switch and an integrated 2A, 230V relay output, making it suitable for controlling external loads such as contactors. You can monitor consumption in real-time and manage appliances directly from the Shelly app, or via MQTT and REST API for advanced integration. An embedded web server allows for local control—turning circuits on/off and monitoring usage—without any additional controller.

Advanced functionality includes full scripting support for local control and custom automations, as well as the ability to set consumption or energy limits. The device can automatically send notifications and switch off a circuit if these preset limits are reached, aiding in energy savings and safety.
