The Proto-Advantage PA0006C is a surface mount adaptor from the Chip Quik Compact Series, designed to convert a SOIC-16 (300 mil body width, 1.27mm pin pitch) integrated circuit to a DIP-16 (600 mil body width, 0.1in pin pitch) footprint. This allows you to easily use surface mount components in through-hole protoboards or sockets.
The adaptor features pre-installed bottom side machine pins that are gold plated (1μm gold over 50μm nickel), measuring 0.46mm in diameter and 3mm long. The pins are installed using a surface mount with partial through hole technology, providing excellent positional accuracy for reliable soldering.
Constructed from FR-4 UL94V-0 PCB material, this adaptor ensures high durability and flame resistance. The PCB dimensions are 1.6mm (height) x 17.78mm (width) x 20.32mm (depth), making it compact and suitable for a wide range of electronics projects.
