The STMICROELECTRONICS 168MHz ARM Cortex-M4 Microcontroller is a high-performance, general-purpose 32-bit device housed in a compact LQFP-64 package. Featuring an ARM Cortex-M4 core with a single-precision floating-point unit (FPU), it supports all ARM single-precision data-processing instructions and data types. This microcontroller also implements a full set of DSP instructions and a memory protection unit (MPU) to enhance application security.
Designed for versatility, it offers three 12-bit ADCs, two DACs, a low-power RTC, and twelve general-purpose 16-bit timers including two PWM timers specifically for motor control, alongside two general-purpose 32-bit timers. Additional advanced features include a true random number generator (RNG), a CRC calculation unit, and a 16-stream DMA controller with FIFOs and burst support.
Connectivity is well-catered for with a USB 2.0 full-speed device/host/OTG controller featuring on-chip PHY, as well as interfaces for CAN, I2C, SPI, UART, and USART. Debugging is facilitated through Serial Wire Debug (SWD) and JTAG interfaces, alongside the Cortex-M4 Embedded Trace Macrocell™.
Operating within a voltage range of 1.8V to 3.6V, this microcontroller boasts a maximum CPU frequency of 168MHz. It includes 1024Kbytes (1MB) of flash memory and 196KB of RAM. The device is suitable for demanding environments with an operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C, making it an excellent choice for industrial and medical applications.
