Fixed 5V LDO voltage regulator by STMicroelectronics. 1.5A output, 8-30V input, AEC-Q100 qualified. Ideal for automotive & power management.
This fixed low drop positive voltage regulator from STMicroelectronics provides a 5V output voltage and is capable of delivering up to 1.5A of output current. It features pin-to-pin compatibility with older 3-terminal adjustable regulators while offering improved performance in terms of dropout and output tolerance.
Unlike PNP regulators where a portion of the output current is wasted as quiescent current, this device ensures the quiescent current flows into the load, thereby increasing overall efficiency. For stability, only a minimum 10μF capacitor is required. On-chip trimming enables the regulator to achieve a very tight output voltage tolerance of ±1% at 25°C.
Qualified according to the AEC-Q100 specification for the automotive market, the device has undergone PAT, SYL, and SBL statistical tests. It operates across a wide temperature range from -40°C to 125°C and includes internal power and thermal limiting protections for enhanced safety and reliability.
