The TE Connectivity R Series precision metal film fixed resistor is engineered for applications demanding exceptional long-term stability. The resistive element features a thin film of nickel-chrome alloy evaporated onto a high thermal conductivity ceramic core, ensuring reliable and consistent performance.

During manufacture, metal end caps are force-fitted to the element before spiralling to the precise value. Tinned copper lead wires are welded to these end caps, and the entire component is comprehensively coated. This protective coating consists of one layer of phenolic resin followed by three layers of epoxy resin, providing excellent durability and environmental protection.
