The Texas Instruments Adjustable Positive Voltage Regulator is a highly versatile 3-terminal device capable of supplying 100mA over an output voltage range of 1.25V to 32V. Exceptionally easy to use, it requires only two external resistors to set the desired output voltage, making it an ideal solution for a wide variety of power management applications.
Featuring a high voltage tolerance of up to 35V, this linear regulator utilises an innovative ungrounded design where the feedback voltage is relative to the output rather than ground. This configuration provides superior line and load regulation, typically achieving 0.01% per input-voltage change for input regulation and 0.5% for output regulation. Furthermore, this design allows the device to function effectively as a precision current source or current sink using just a single external resistor.
With a robust ripple rejection of typically 80dB, the regulator ensures stable and clean power delivery. The device features a bias current of up to 2.5mA, which flows to the output and must be utilised by the load or feedback resistors. Classified as a green product, it contains no antimony (Sb) or bromine (Br). Compact in size, it features product dimensions of 43mm in height, 33mm in width, and 15mm in depth, with a lightweight design of just 0.176 grams.
