This TEXAS INSTRUMENTS CMOS Decade Counter is a 5-stage Johnson counter featuring 10 decoded outputs. Designed for versatility, its inputs include a CLOCK, a RESET, and a CLOCK INHIBIT signal. The Schmitt trigger action on the CLOCK input circuit provides pulse shaping, which allows for unlimited clock input pulse rise and fall times, ensuring reliable performance in various conditions.
The counter advances by one count at the positive clock signal transition, provided the CLOCK INHIBIT signal is low. It supports a wide supply voltage range from 3V to 18V and operates efficiently across an extensive temperature range from -55°C to 125°C, making it suitable for demanding environments.
Housed in a 16-pin PDIP package with dimensions of 43 mm in height, 33 mm in width, and 15 mm in depth, this component offers fully static operation and standardised, symmetrical output characteristics. It is 100% tested for quiescent current at 20V and meets all requirements of the JEDEC tentative standard No. 13B.
