The Texas Instruments LM27313XMF/NOPB is a highly efficient, adjustable output boost (step-up) DC/DC converter, designed to provide an exceptionally compact and high-density power solution. Integrated within a tiny 5-pin SOT-23 package is a robust 30V internal FET switch, enabling the generation of boosted output voltages from 4V to 28V from a wide input range of 2.7V to 14V. This design, combined with a high 1.6MHz switching frequency, allows for the use of small external inductors and capacitors, resulting in a complete power supply with a very small footprint.
Key to its performance is a low RDS(ON) DMOS FET switch capable of handling switching currents up to 800mA, minimising power losses and maximising efficiency. For power-sensitive applications, a logic-level shutdown pin is provided, reducing quiescent current to less than 1µA to significantly extend battery life in portable devices. Comprehensive protection is built-in, featuring cycle-by-cycle current limiting and thermal shutdown to ensure reliable operation under fault conditions.
