The LM311N/NOPB is a precision voltage comparator housed in an 8-pin Dual In-line Package (DIP). Designed for versatility, it operates across an exceptionally wide supply voltage range, from standard ±15V operational amplifier supplies down to a single 5V supply compatible with integrated circuit logic systems.
A key feature is its output compatibility, which works seamlessly with RTL, DTL, TTL, and MOS logic families. It is capable of driving indicators such as lamps or relays, handling voltages up to 50V at currents as high as 50mA. Both the inputs and outputs can be isolated from the system ground, offering design flexibility, and the output itself can drive loads that are referenced to ground.
The device includes provisions for offset balancing and features a strobe capability, while outputs can be wire-OR connected. Engineered for stable operation, it is less prone to spurious oscillations, ensuring reliable performance in critical circuits.
