The VISHAY 470µF 63V Radial Leaded Capacitor is a polarised aluminium electrolytic component featuring a non-solid electrolyte. As part of the 136 RVI series, this capacitor provides excellent ripple current capability, making it a highly effective choice for demanding electronic circuits.
Aluminium capacitors are particularly suitable for addressing requirements such as low and high frequency filtering and energy storage, which demand high capacitance values and power ratings. This device offers high capacitance-to-unit-cost ratios, is compact compared with other technologies, and is relatively insensitive to voltage spikes.
Construction and Design
The internal construction includes an electrochemically etched aluminium anode foil forming the first plate, with an oxide layer on the etched foil acting as the dielectric. A paper spacer impregnated with fluid electrolyte sits in contact with the oxide layer to form the second plate, whilst a second foil provides the other contact with the fluid electrolyte. The component is housed in a cylindrical case equipped with pressure relief and is insulated with a blue sleeve.
