The VISHAY TRANSZORB SMAJ series is a high-performance surface-mount Transient Voltage Suppressor (TVS) diode designed to protect sensitive electronic circuits from damaging voltage transients. It offers a robust 400W peak pulse power capability (using a 10/1000μs waveform), making it a reliable defence against surges caused by inductive load switching, lightning, and electrostatic discharge.
This unidirectional diode features excellent clamping capability and a very fast response time to divert excess energy away from critical components like integrated circuits (ICs), MOSFETs, and sensor signal lines. Its low incremental surge resistance ensures effective performance under repetitive transient conditions, with a 0.01% duty cycle for pulses above 78V.
Constructed with a glass passivated chip junction, the diode is built for reliability and longevity. It is supplied in the compact DO-214AC (SMA) surface-mount package, which is ideal for automated placement on modern printed circuit boards (PCBs). The component operates across a wide junction temperature range from -55°C to 150°C, suitable for demanding environments.
