VISHAY VOM160NT phototriac optocoupler with 3.75kV isolation. Non-zero crossing, 600V rating. For SSRs, motor drives & industrial controls.
The VISHAY VOM160NT is a high-performance 4-pin phototriac output optocoupler, designed to provide reliable electrical isolation and control in a wide range of electronic applications. It features an AlGaAs (Aluminium Gallium Arsenide) infrared emitting diode (IRED) that is optically coupled to a photosensitive non-zero crossing triac. This configuration ensures robust noise immunity and safe galvanic isolation between low-voltage control circuits and high-voltage AC mains.
This component is engineered for demanding environments, offering a high static dV/dt rating of greater than 0.5 kV/µs, which provides excellent immunity against voltage transients. With an on-state RMS current of 70 mA, it is capable of driving triacs, solid-state relays, and other loads directly. Key electrical specifications include a forward current of 60 mA and a reverse voltage of 6 V, ensuring stable operation within its designed parameters.
Primary Applications
The VOM160NT is ideally suited for use in triac drives for motor speed control, forming the heart of solid-state relays for switching AC loads, and within various office automation equipment. Its reliable isolation makes it a critical component in consumer electronics, industrial control systems, and motor drive control circuits where safety and signal integrity are paramount.
