The VISTA CCTV VSW8 8-Port Desktop PoE Network Switch provides a compact and powerful networking solution, perfect for distributed surveillance and IP systems. This versatile switch is designed for the installer, offering an effective and straightforward way to build robust network architectures. Its dual functionality makes it an indispensable tool for both standard networking and specialised CCTV applications.

Featuring eight Power over Ethernet (PoE) ports, this switch can directly power and connect up to four local IP cameras, eliminating the need for separate power supplies and simplifying cable runs. The integrated dual uplink ports add significant flexibility; one can be dedicated to connecting a local Network Video Recorder (NVR) or server, while the other maintains a connection to the main network and client PCs.

A key innovation is the dedicated CCTV Mode. With a simple flick of a switch, the device transforms its operation. In standard mode, it functions as a typical unmanaged network switch, allowing communication between all eight PoE ports with the standard 90-metre transmission distance. When switched to CCTV mode, inter-port communication is disabled, allowing each individual PoE port to communicate only with the two uplink ports. This configuration dramatically extends the PoE transmission distance to an impressive 250 metres, ideal for covering large premises or challenging installations.

With a total PoE budget of 120W, the switch can comfortably support multiple static cameras or a couple of higher-power consumption PTZ dome cameras. Its compact, desktop-friendly design ensures it can be discreetly placed in a variety of locations, from network cabinets to office desktops.
