The VN340SP-E is a quad monolithic high-side smart power Solid State Relay, developed using ST's VIPower™ technology. This device is engineered to drive up to four independent resistive or inductive loads, each with one side connected to ground. Its robust design incorporates extensive protection features to ensure reliable operation in demanding environments.
This relay driver includes active current limitation to prevent the system power supply from dropping when a load is short-circuited. Built-in thermal shutdown safeguards the IC from over-temperature and short-circuit conditions. An open-drain diagnostic output flags over-temperature events, with each I/O being pulled down when the corresponding channel's threshold is exceeded. Additional features include protection against loss of ground, an under-voltage lock-out with hysteresis, and fast demagnetisation of inductive loads.
The device operates with a supply voltage ranging from 10V to 36V and delivers an output current of 700mA. It comes in a compact SOIC-10 package, suitable for automated assembly. Its operating temperature range spans from -40°C to 125°C, making it suitable for a wide variety of industrial and power management applications. The product is ESD-sensitive, and proper handling precautions are advised.
