The ZOOM M3 MicTrak Stereo Shotgun Recorder is a lightweight, in-camera microphone with a built-in recorder designed to capture pristine audio for filmmakers. Recording in 32-bit float ensures perfectly modulated, clipping-free audio every time, eliminating the need for equalisation and guaranteeing flawless sound even in unpredictable environments.

Featuring a selectable recording pattern, the M3 adapts to any scenario. Choose mono mode for focused dialogue recording, 90° for accurate and transparent stereo capture, or 120° for a generous stereo pick-up ideal for atmosphere and sound effects. Additionally, the M3 saves a backup file in mid-side RAW format, giving you the flexibility to adjust the stereo width during post-production using the included M3 Edit and Play software.

Designed to mount directly onto your camera, the specially engineered elastic holder minimises weight and reduces handheld noise transmission. It offers a line output to send audio straight to your camera, while a USB-C port allows use as a USB microphone for streaming or recording on a PC or Mac. A 3.5mm headphone output enables real-time monitoring.

Power and Storage

Power through long production days with up to 12 hours of recording using two Type AA batteries. The device records onto microSDHC and microSDXC cards, supporting capacities up to 1 TB.
