The Everbuild Sika Fire Mate Intumescent Sealant Grey C3 is a high-performance, one-part, emulsion acrylic-based sealant designed for fire-rated structures. This product offers a five-hour fire resistance rating, ensuring optimal safety in various construction applications. Tested in accordance with BS 476 part 20 (1987) and detailed in Warrington Fire Research Report No. 144508/B (Feb 2005), this sealant is rigorously proven to resist fire penetration for up to 5 hours.
When exposed to heat, the sealant expands to over three times its original size, forming a protective char that effectively blocks fire and smoke. This feature makes it an ideal solution for sealing joints, voids, and irregular holes in fire walls, partitions, and other structural elements. Additionally, it serves as an excellent acoustic sealant, providing sound deadening properties for quieter environments.
The sealant is fast-curing, becoming tack-free in just 15 minutes, and can be overpainted for a seamless finish. No priming is required for most construction substrates, simplifying application. Suitable for joints up to 50mm wide, it ensures flexibility and durability in demanding conditions.
